Mill Valley, California, a wealthy city just north of San Francisco, voted unanimously to effectively halt the installation of new small cell towers which carry the 5G technology. The city issued an “urgency ordinance” that allows it to enact regulations and prohibitions for all future applications to build 5G telecommunications equipment in the city. The city received 145 pieces of correspondence from citizens voicing opposition to the technology, which represents more than 1% of the population of 14,000 people. Two more cities, San Anselmo, and Ross, also in Marin County, passed similar ordinances. Read more.
