President Trump signed an executive order to make it easier for genetically engineered plants and animals to enter the food supply. Crops produced with newer gene-editing technologies, including the CRISPR gene editing technique, would only be subject to special oversight under the proposed rule if they posed a risk as plant pests. Americans have objected to GMOs for many years over health and safety issues, but politicians ignore the will of the people. Read more.
