Vitamin and mineral supplements are sold in several forms. Some vitamins are sold as “natural,” which often means the product has been purified from a plant or animal product. Others are synthetic, which can mean that the biochemical has been manufactured from chemicals that were not directly obtained from plants. But the terms “natural” and “synthetic” can be confusing, because in some cases, a “natural” vitamin product does not necessarily mean the best buy, as it may be expensive and without pure vitamin content.
