Harkin and Hatch Letter Calls on FDA to “Withdraw NDI Guidance and Begin Work on a New Draft”

Senators Tom Harkin (Iowa) and Orrin Hatch (Utah) have written to FDA expressing “significant concern” regarding the draft New Dietary Ingredient notification guidance. The principle authors of DSHEA urge FDA to “withdraw the guidance and start the process of drafting a new one,” and have directed FDA to meet with them in January to discuss these concerns in more detail.
