Representative Dave Brat (R-VA) is about to introduce the “WIC Improvement Act” for the inclusion of multivitamins for purchase as part of the special supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and children (WIC). The WIC program provides Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age 5 who are found to be at nutritional risk. The program has grown significantly in its nearly 40-years of existence, and it now serves approximately 8 million participants. Take Action here:
