“The new director of this civil rights section at HHS is Roger Severino. He came to our meeting yesterday morning and briefed us on the new release. Severino was formerly with the Heritage Foundation. He mentioned some very interesting points. One point that stuck to me was this: In the past it was always necessary to go to Congress if you did not like an agency regulation. With this new administration things have changed. One can go directly to the agency and file a complaint, and his staff will take it up and handle it. Read more.

Opposition to GMOs is Neither Unscientific nor Immoral
Posted January 26, 2018
In a recent opinion piece – Avoiding GMOs Isn’t Just Anti-science, It’s Immoral – Purdue University president Mitch Daniels offers an impassioned plea that we embrace GMOs in agriculture. Daniels’ argument runs as follows: The health and ecological safety of GMOs is unquestionable “settled science.” Therefore, it is immoral to deny developing countries the agricultural technology they need to boost food production and feed their growing populations. It seems an open-and-shut case: the self-indulgent anti-GMO fad among rich consumers threatens the less fortunate with starvation. As Daniels says, it is immoral for them to “inflict their superstitions on the poor and hungry”. But let’s look at some of the assumptions that this argument takes for granted: (1) That GMOs are indeed safe, and (2) that GMOs and industrial agriculture in general allow higher yields than more traditional forms of agriculture. Thanks to the J.J. Newberry Department Store, I Avoided Hand Surgery. Twice.
Posted January 26, 2018
I’d been having some trouble with my left hand. A chiropractor friend of mine told me I was developing a trigger finger, and he was correct. Whenever I curled my hand, my ring finger locked in the “down” position. It was especially disturbing to me because both my mother and father have had surgery for trigger fingers, in my Dad’s case, nine such operations. Oh, great, I thought. My turn now, at age 30, in graduate school. Read more.
Your Earwax Can Give You Important Clues about Your Health
Posted January 26, 2018
For the most part, we don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the inside of our ears, apart from a very general “are they clean?”. Perhaps we should be giving them more thought because the color of our earwax can say a lot about our general health, and it can give us valuable clues when something is wrong. Read more.
Science Being Ignored as Deaths from the Flu Continue to Mount Among Mass Flu Vaccinated Population
Posted January 26, 2018
Media reports are coming in reporting high rates of deaths due to the flu, and the majority of those dying from the flu have been vaccinated. (See: Flu Kills Eight Santa Barbara Residents in Two Weeks for one example where local media reports 7 of the 8 people who died from the flu were vaccinated for the flu.) The flu shot is not without severe risks, risks that are routinely censored in the corporate “mainstream” media, and include paralysis from Guillain-Barré Syndrome, chronic shoulder pain from SIRVA, and death. It is, by far, the most dangerous vaccine in America. Read more.
Here’s What Happened When I Drank Mushroom Coffee For a Month
Posted January 26, 2018
Because I’m into trying weird holistic things, instead of going back to the regular stuff, I ordered instant mushroom coffee. I’d seen medicinal mushrooms becoming more popular over the last year, on wellness blogs, like MindBodyGreen and Well+Good, and wanted to give it a try. Mushroom coffee is just regular ground coffee with powders from medicinal mushrooms (it doesn’t taste like mushrooms at all, and the prep is the same as regular coffee). Read more.
Foods that Make You Younger Versus Foods That Age You
Posted January 26, 2018
Five years ago, I found out my body was in a failure state as measured by my telomeres, the protective caps on chromosomes that reflect how fast you are aging. As with many stories of initiation, my failing telomeres started me on an unplanned journey of surrender and healing. You may wonder what my telomeres have to do with food. My simple blood test showed that when I was 44 years of age, I had the shortened telomeres of a 64-year-old woman. Read more.

The exponential increase in the autism / autism spectrum prevalence rate since 1985 (1 in 2,500) to 2016 (1 in 45) is evidence of an epidemic, not, as the deniers will have it, “an optical illusion” or “a statistical mirage“. Read more.
