A University of Louisville study published last week found that “mask mandates and use are not associated with lower SARS-CoV-2 spread among US states.” Looking at the 80% of US states which mandated masks during the COVID-19 pandemic, the data concluded greater mask compliance did not correlate with lower growth rates of the virus. The university study was the first to feature CDC data from multiple seasons, including the winter of 2020. Read more.
