Are You Eating Pork Injected with Merck’s nRNA Livestock Vaccine?
- For the last couple of years, I’ve recommended not eating pork due to its high linoleic acid (LA) content, but there’s an even bigger reason to avoid it now. Since 2018, pork producers have been using customizable mRNA-based “vaccines” on their herds.
- The very first RNA-based livestock vaccine, a swine influenza (H3N2) RNA shot licensed in 2012, was developed by Harrisvaccines. Read more.
Regenerative, Organic and Agroecology: What’s the Difference?
Regenerative, organic, agroecological. You might encounter all of these terms in the search for ‘sustainably’ grown food (there’s another!). This word soup is a great sign that lots of farming communities are experimenting to find a better way, but as a consumer, it can be pretty confusing. Read more.
Consumer Alert: Air Fresheners
You’ve probably seen pictures of people navigating urban cityscapes, their noses and mouths covered by medical masks to safeguard against toxic air quality. You might be surprised to learn that it’s actually indoor air quality, permeated by chemical “air fresheners,” that is a top concern for public health officials. Read more.
Glyphosate linked yet again to Cancer
You might have never heard of glyphosate before, but you probably have some in your garage or basement. It’s the active ingredient in herbicides and weed killers, and now scientists in the US have found that people exposed to it have biomarkers (a naturally occurring molecule or gene found in body fluids or tissues) linked to the development of cancer and other diseases. Where are the Good Doctors?
There is a widely held belief amongst patients that doctors should be solely working for the patient’s personal good health. This is a myth. Weight-management market focuses on holistic health and positive messaging
Many people gained weight—“the COVID 15”—during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Harvard Health Publishing, 15 million patients’ electronic health records in 2021 showed that 39% gained weight (2.5 lb or more) after the pandemic began.1 So it’s somewhat surprising to hear that, three years into the pandemic, weight loss may not be consumers’ leading health concern. As it turns out, other priorities that peaked in recent years—like mental health and sleep—are in the front seat. Read more.
Nutritional Outrages of the Week
A trio of food stories caught my eye this week . . . Turning breakfast cereal into a bedtime snack: A problem for the food industry is that there are only a finite number of mouths available to eat breakfast. Read more.
Regulatory Limbo: the Case of NAC
In a world in which humans are pumping ever greater amounts of new-to-nature chemicals into the environment, we’re asking a lot from our detoxification systems. Your kidneys, and your liver in particular, do a lot of the heavy lifting. But there’s a lot happening in our bloodstreams and within every cell of our bodies too, particularly in undoing the damage that toxins and associated free radicals can do as they circulate around our system before they are turned into less toxic, or sometimes even, more toxic, metabolites, or they’re excreted, or stored in body fat. The Labels on Your Foods are Shielding Lies
Thanks to the FDA, food labels are about to get even more misleading. Action Alert! Consumers beware: the FDA is on a crusade to make you healthier! This is undoubtedly a noble goal, but the FDA and the federal government have proven completely incapable of providing sound advice about diet and nutrition to Americans. The FDA has released a draft guidance to inform food companies about how they should make “dietary guidance statements” on food labels. Read more.
