For the first time, the EPA has proposed enforceable limits on six PFAS chemicals in Americans’ drinking water. When these standards become final, public water systems will be required to monitor for these six PFAS, notify the public of the levels detected in water, and reduce the levels of these PFAS in drinking water if they exceed the standards. Gene Editing Found to Cause Chaos in the Genome of Tomatoes
Recent scientific findings have revealed chromothripsis-like effects after the application of CRISPR/Cas gene editing in the genome of tomatoes, reports Testbiotech in an article commenting on a just-published preprint study by scientists based in Israel and the US. Chromothripsis refers to a phenomenon in which often several hundred genetic changes occur simultaneously in a catastrophic event. New Illinois Law Mandates Electric Charging Stations in all New and Renovated Homes
Illinois is set to become the first state in the nation to mandate the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the garages of newly constructed or renovated homes. This is after the passage of Senate Bill 40, known as the “Electric Vehicle Charging Act,” which was introduced by Democratic State Sen.
