A Connecticut State Supreme Court has ruled that the state can force a 17-year-old cancer patient to receive chemotherapy treatments against her will. The ruling is a victory for the pharmaceutical industry which may soon translate into forced vaccinations and drug therapy if higher courts believe parents are legally neglecting their children. The court found that the state had not violated the rights of a 17-year-old identified as Cassandra C., who’s receiving forced chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Read more.
